My bikes.

👍

A drunk Brit not being on top of the date stamper and selling bikes made by drunk French is also a theory not to be put aside. 😁

The single best I have found with Pugs is the head badge reference. Tontonvelo have even disqualified the pre-war dates according to what Peugeot later published. Can be a nightmare so the other clues can be more meaningful. Unravelling the ins-and-outs of Pug domestic vs export seems like an endless surprise list 😆

All that said, it's of course as we know what is in your hands to work with the more important and essential. I really like this because of the sombre colour, lugs and suspect there is still a lot of quality and miles in it. It beats the usual droves of worthless 10 speed Pug racers by a mile in terms of usefulness and it will probably ride pretty darn well.

I like the steel bars too and they have come up well. The SR stem is a better choice than that ATAX stem with at a guess a conical wedge 😍

Foreman of the wheel department to employee: Are those for export?
Employer to foreman: I don't know. Do you? I'm lacing what is in front of me.
Foreman to employee: Rim looks a bit bigger, so yeah export.

Employer to foreman: I don't know. Do you? I'm screwing on a freewheel what is in front of me.
Foreman to employee: Hub looks a bit smaller, so yeah domestic.

Financial officer to Foreman of wheel department: Dump this double obsolete lot abroad now. 😆

Really don't know Rob. In honesty if they are not cracked that's already good news. Many I see at the charity shop can appear in good condition but on closer examination cracks - the front cracking on the front mech is around the threaded inserts for the clamp, on the rear mech hairline cracks often close to the rivet pivots on the bottom knuckle.

Thankfully they were very popular - I see on Ebay though some of the prices are bit daft and worth the whole bike.

If you win the lottery, you could upgrade to AL and forget all you woes:

Looks like the lack of chrome on the rack will compliment the “rust spiders” on the top tube! 😜

Not sure what you can do with delrin to re colourise it. I would have thought it’s UV damage as plastics rely on masterbatch to add colour and they are not completely UV stable. Plus delrin is like nylon and waxy/oily surface so hard to make paint adhere to the surface. Feels like a ink/dye would be better vs. a more viscose paint. Guess some experimenting is required?!
