I am sorry I can't help you with the serial, but I really like the bike. This mint green is such a beautiful colour! Nice find!

Well, the first digit of the serial is an 8, making it 1978? This would be inline with the clip on brake cable. The 748 from 1980 has already the braze-on's, so it is certainly from before that.

that could be what i can see in the code could be an 76 or 77 i keep gessing about it(hope i say that correct)

Shame it has the braze on gear lever bosses that would make a very cool fixed bike - especially if it has a 120 rear end

a friend came with the same idea but i want to keep it geared cause of the good condition and otherwise this guy aint getting speed

O, do I know this feeling. Part of my "collection" I have build up because I was looking for a decent frame for either a Singlespeed or a Fixie, but everytime I feel in love with the bike (and was lucky with the state and orginality, I guess) and decided to keep it stock.
