I used those old MT60 thumbies for ages with 7spd on the green thingy without issue - my mittens' string may have got tangled up but I was ok.

My mistake , cured him without a by or leave . I remember now . Maybe I should be crucified , but that a doddle isn't it . At least you're out in the fresh air :facepalm: :roll:

I have to say I'm a bit intrigued now.

The RF Alfine shifter I have is much better than the other RFs I've tried, so maybe it's down to age/quality. (Though confusingly the gears shift in the opposite direction).

I might try a Sachs Wavy shifter for my 1x8 build and then switch to an thumbie if I don't get on with it. Are the Sachs Wavy shifts 5.0mmm c-c or 4.8mm?
