Haha classic - I know that one all too well!

I was cycling up a biggish hill in Leeds on the way back from work when this younger kid clearly took it upon himself to race me up. There was no way I was going to let this cheeky sod get away with that one so I picked him off and pulled away from him as casually as possible without looking back (although naturally I was actually giving it my all).

As soon as I realised he'd turned off the main road and was gone I got off the bike, sweating buckets, completely out of breath and unpleasantly close to puking - I really felt sick. It was at this point that a little old lady cycled past me really slowly and made some sympathetic comment about how difficult it was cycling up such a big hill :oops: :roll:
 
Ok not sure if this one fits the bill - but genuinely interested either way so bettered or butchered?

One medium rare frame fairly sought after especially in 17".

Canti bridge ground off.
rear brake pivots ground off.
One cable run reamed for discs.
IS mount added.

Add to that some manufacturing quirks such as no seat collar and an oversized head tube for the model.
