If the 5er looks odd its because I am in canada and this 5er is the older note than they make nowadays. Like a time capsule reminder of when our shorts and shirts had no pockets.

Nice. Could never afford a Nishiki as a kid, but I have fond memories of the brand. That's a beautiful bike. Would a 91 have been suspension corrected?

ive always tightened my suspension down all the way cuz if I pulled up hard the felt terrible bottoming out. But yes these manitous are exactly the way I like. Which is they do not move haha

Those early suspension forks were "height adjusted" to the frames and not the other way round
If you dont like suspension, why dont you mount a rigid fork and sell the manitou to someone that likes it ( like me )
That would save you some weight
