New Breezer MTB's

I'd like to see a monster steel hardtail Breezer. Clearance to run 2.5 tyres and room for a 150mm fork up front. Removable drop outs for geared/SS and a ISCG mount on the BB. Paint would be the same colours as the 94 Lightning.
That would be a kick ass bike

Why are we getting SO excited over modern bikes?

Better start a thread the new Kona's as they look the as these. Or any of the other brands that we remember BITD that are still going.

No getting SO excited about anything Tony, just expressing interest.
Personally I enjoy modern bikes as much as the old ones, and whilst funny looking plastic bikes from 20 years ago might be OK for a steady ride around London on, they are somewhat lacking when it comes to 1200ft 1 in 2 descents in rocky Northumberland- hence the interest in bikes that can keep my aging talentless ass entertained and in one piece.

;)

Probably too UK orientated to be considered, and possibly bandwagon jumping. I reckon the models shown are true to the original ethos.

tintin we moan when new bikes are all labelled with whatever the latest marketing term is 'all mountain' 'hardcore XC' enduro' etc. Then when someone puts together a bike with modern sensibilities and technology built still following the old school one bike for all jobs we moan that its nothing new

tell me what a new bike has to do/be to sell and be a success in your opinion?

I agree the 2011 Kona hardtails have a great new geometry/shape, way better than BITD. But the strange thing about it is that they are going to be for export only. There isn't going to be a Kula 26er on sale in the US, because it seems that the market for high-end 26ers has completely disappeared. High-end hardtail demand is for 29ers only.

So it seems a strange time to resurrect the Breezer brand.

Breezer has some 29ers coming out too, with some new ideas on geometry.

Nothing. I wouldn't cycle if all had to ride are moderns. I'm very lucky to have taken up MTBing in the late 80's till early 90's

Amd now to have found this site so that i can relive those wonderful times

I haven't seen those, but actually the 29er concept is much more of a piece with the Breezer heritage than a kick-ass 26er.

My image of Joe Breeze is of somebody who rides fast, but in a gentle way. Somehow I don't picture Joe Breeze kicking anybody's ass except through speed.
