Mystery frame

Razesa were one if the top Spanish artisan builders. I've got a very nice 80's one in deep purple!

Regrets, I've had a few .. They built time trial and lo profile bikes for the national team and also Banesto. I was in the same Zaragoza shed as one of Indurains first steel Tour raced lo profiles. Ex team mechanic. I had the chance to buy it for 900 euro, and knocked it back!

One of his signed Banesto road frames (by Razesa) sold last year to a Japanese collector for 75k euro...

Hey ho!

Beautiful, I knew that banesto used their bikes but tbh have no clue about the razesa manufacture itself.

Yeah, Spanish artisan bike and components manufacturing is a mystery to most. They were making lightweights, and titanium parts and frames a decade before anyone else. The French were very good at nicking their ideas and branding them as original! In the fifties there were literally hundreds of frame builders in Spain. THT anyone!?

Some went on to produce bikes and frames for Eddy Merckx, who was not at all keen on the Colnagos the Molteni team rode. There are also a few frame builders who would give Hetchins a run for their money as regards ornate lugs and detail.

I've got a few Spanish frames, will post some later 😎
