1997 GT RTS All Terra Mountain Bike Advice on Bearings and Handlebars/Accessories Due to Hand Pain

Great, I'm not after anything fancy. I don't know anything about seat posts, as long as it fits and isn't too long, what else should I be considering?

I'd recommend something long enough to give you the height needed to ride, and a fair bit inside the frame. Posts that are too short will result in the frame potentially getting damaged and could result in it breaking. Something long enough that once inserted, goes below the top tube lower weld at minimum.

I'll see what I have.

Here's one I've managed to dig out. 26.8x350mm. strong and solid post.

I'd suggest 2 inches below the lower weld on an older aluminium frame👍
