Mystery and Unidentified Parts

You are correct.. looks like Sachs.. similar logo to the Quarz.. but with a "P" or "D" or "J"?
It's obviously the Sachs P "Plasma" Logo from late days from Sachs 98-99,

just haven't seen Plasma Hubs or even other black Hubs from Sachs at all. Seem to be a bit rare.

On the 1999 SRAM poster brochure Plasma Hubs are still shown

But as said, those had been still polished, and looked rather classic or old-fashioned at this point of time. Never seen black Sachs hubs at all.

To me the brands Sachs, also ESP, were stopped already after 1998 season but also Series like Plasma were discontinued from SRAM after 1999 season. Everything had been replaced than by new SRAM labled products in 2000.

Having this hub in a 2002 Bike makes me a bit wondering.
Maybe SRAM has continued to deliver a few Sachs or at least Plasma labled parts but just as an OEMs to companies Specialized?

BTW: in this listing is the 2002 S-Works M5 equipped with a Mavic wheelset.

They would sell through the stock they bought with the company when they ceased manufacturing.
