Thanks, woodwork has helped me to focus my energy. Its a very worthwhile pursuit.Pretty beautiful.
Thinking to get into wood work too…tried it a few times as it’s my father’s trade and it’s a flow inducing activity for me. I just log out of everything and lose touch with time.

Beautiful work there - I like your fusion of design ideas and the execution looks top notch. I ran my own furniture making business for fifteen years. It's hard work. I gave up to become a wheel builder - much less chance of planing your hand off!
Here is my latest woodwork creation. Very much at the other end of the scale... The entirely scavenged shed: pallets, sleepers from a skip and OSB, kingspan and corrugated roofing from the tip.

An amazing creation @videojetman . I wish I had a few of those skills. Like @wynne , a lot of my stuff starts as pallets. Buckingham Pallet just made me choke on my beer! Anyhow, don’t tell him as it is a surprise. Here’s a trophy I have made for my son who scored his first “5 For” a few weeks ago.
The base is made from the blocks in pallets. Does anyone know what type of wood this is? Light and dark in the same piece. It is a hardwood of some sort. The stacked pieces in the background are from the same pallet.

Most pallets are coniferous/softwood though I notice there is quite a lot of variation. Some of that will come from them drying out with age. Also some pallets are chemically treated to preserve them - and are generally best avoided (especially for use as kindling).

I too am a fan of pallet “ repurposing” my latest project is a “” wheelie bin caddy” early days yet but after a slow start it’s getting there. So as not to derail this thread I’ll start a new thread.
