bought from an old local bike shop shutting because of retirement over 20 years ago. I bought all of his huret top tube clips too.

So I thought I'd check the stem and seat post. Stem moves but is tight, just like someone has rammed an English stem in at 22.2 mm not 22mm. I don't care it moves. I'll take whatever I can get. Seat post came straight out. Oh there's a shim wtf, looks original. Seat post measures a shade under 22mm on the verynear. I take out the shim and try a "standard"

Peugeot seat post which is 24mm and it's like a prick in a shirt sleeve. Also the top of the seat tube is distorted. I'll dress it up and try another seat post later.
