My bikes.

Rode the Saracen. Handles very nicely. Position on the bike is spot on comfortable. Brakes had little bite but seemed to improve. Oryx are usually very good. The gear's just shite. Ratios are great. Rear mech is fine. Front mech is an abortion. While it works very well up and down it rubs in a lot of higher gears. I assume a pull ratio issue because it has the travel, just not with the sti. It does have a roller so a bottom pull mech can be used with top pull cabling.
Take away is. If kept in drop bar configuration, it has to have a barcon for the front mech.

I fitted a barcon, works really well. Ran the outer all the way around so it exits with the brake cable. Front rack platform is not level as it moves the load to far out. I prefer the rack legs in line with the head tube also. Rear rack platform is not level because the brackets are to short, so I'll either buy or make some new ones. Just tape to finish once I'm happy with everything else. Colour is still not showing the vivid red it is.

Bob, have you relocated to East London, wearing ill fitting 80s clothes with dodgy facial hair and a knitted beany hat???

That is one proper hipster rack on the front, when are you adding the plastic crate complete with inner tube bungee's???

Joking aside amazing work and well executed, but you need a different setting on your camera to try and capture the red!!!

Are you using an MTB front derailleur? If so, than that is what is causing the misalignment. Since you look to be shifting a double, swap it for a road FD and you should be good to go with the STI shifter.

73mm bottom bracket too. I've never had an issue like this. The travel is there I can move the cage up to the stop manually, but the sti is not pulling enough cable.
Barcon on there now trimming is a thing 🥰
