Mountain Mayhem Gatcombe Park 16/17/18 June 2017

Re:

Up here in Jockland the descent that everyone thought super techy and tough at last years mayhem which now has an easier option FFS would be classed as a piece of p***
You southern flatlanders have got to get a grip, Mountain Mayhem is just a long slog through Parkland. Try one lap at Nae Fuss Events 'Ten Under The Ben' at Fort William that was tough and techy. I do have weaknesses, slogging up hill for miles gets me walking quite quickly so I will be pushing my bike at Mayhem 17 but I am looking forward to what few techy downhills the course offers :D

Re:

I fully understand where your coming from i mean i find a hard slog having to get up and get me beer from the intruder fridge and then back to me chair.

thanks andy

True reaching for a brew when your chilling out is a toughie
I will see you guys on Saturday hopefully before the race begins. Second leg of my southern trip is from Warrington to Gatcombe on Saturday starting at stupid o'clock in morning but nearly all motorway so should be fine

Velo

bring some of that legendary Iron Bru that you guys drink.... but has to be in a glass bottle as every jock I've ever met tells me it tastes a lot better out of a glass, and not like the shite you guys send south in plastic containers or cans.

A 500ml or a litre of that full fat golden piss and I'll be pumped.

Got a new flag this year as I gave one away to some lunatic.

Carl: I've got your pound in my pocket.

Re:

Panic stations !!!

Just realised the rack I was going to fit to the Kona won't fit (Probably should have checked that beforehand ... but spent too long trying to find a set of V brakes to get the blasted thing working  ) . So an extra large camping rucksack it is. Sleeping bag, clothes etc all fit (and fairy lights to keep THM happy ;) ) so only the tent and camping mat to work out (probably tie that to the frame somehow). I'll figure it out, I like a challenge.

Food wise I'm guessing there's food stalls/catering vans etc up there so only have to bring snacky stuff? Alcohol...I'll figure that one out when I know what room I have left.

On a positive note brakes are pretty much sorted and trains are all booked. So it's literally just sorting out what else to bring now. Hopefully better organised than my last event a few weeks ago. Apparently preparation for a 100km road ride is Fixing the brakes at 5am on the morning of the race.
