Modolo brakes.

I had a set of Modolo Equipe, decent brakes but they were prone to squeaking. I swapped em for a pair of Mavic SSC which were plush by comparison.

There are some rare variations, like the La Vie Claire specific brakes which go for daft money to collectors, but the blokes selling NOS Modolo and hoping to get C Record prices are kinda kidding themselves ...

Quite possibly the worst (and the lightest) brakes I've ever used, Clb professionnel. Every nut and bolt is aluminium, which is nice, gets the weight down to 160gr the pair. However... Those brake blocks are tiny! About 40% less contact than regular on the rim, and in the rain as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

And did they squeal? They're french, of course they did!

That bike should be in an art gallery, it's so beautiful. 😍
I’m happy to report this lovely tribute machine is now with its true owner 👍

I had some CLB brake calipers. Not the pro level ones, they were a bit more mediocre. The arm snapped midway down as I was descending down the garden path. Fortunately I was only doing about 5mph but dred to think what could have been.
Took em back to swap for some weinmann 500s/730s
