It feels wrong to even be writing this ad and I probably have loads of other stuff I could sell instead, however an opportunity has arisen to buy something else special from the 80s so I am preparing to let this go. As it is so original I would prefer it went as complete as possible, however I am prepared to split if the frame/forks/HS/stem go first.
So what we have here is an original, unrestored, unmolested example of a 'Top of the Range' 1989 Offroad ProAM
89 Catalogue here [url=http://www.retrobike.co.uk/ga...w.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/v/M ... e.pdf.html[/url]
I am happy to list the full spec if needed however here are the highlights:-
Size 21.5" - Full Tange Prestige Tubing. Paint work is in really great condition throughout. Some slight staining around the seat tube where is was wrapped with an inner tube to prevent scratching but this may polish out.
Original mk1 colour coded Offroad Flex stem (needs new rubber)
Full Deore II [MT62] Groupset (inc headset) in totally mint condition. This is a rare groupset in its own right and probably worth most of the asking price on its own
Rims - Very early Ritchey Vantage hard anodized. Almost no wear at all. When do you see those?
Tyres - The FJs pictured are not included but a set of very very nice period Panaracer Timbuk II are.
The NOS Blue Suede Turbo is available by negotiation.
Deore II Pedals are not included - soz
A rare opportunity to acquire a turn key mint reto classic
Price £300 ono (PP friends or add fees. blah blah ) plus delivery to where you are. I may be able to deliver in Hampshire, West Sussex, Dorset area.
Frame/fork/stem/HS package £120 plus delivery.
The bike is in secure storage at the moment so the pictures are from last summer.....and the summer before . Those of you who went to the first Iconoclassic in 2014 would have seen this in its full glory. Hard to believe this is nearly 30 years old! A rare beast indeed.
