Merlin malt- Frame change GT avalanche 1.0

Re:

Thanks. I couldn't bring myself to get replica decals for like 20 odd quid and i dont like the originals anyway they look quite cheap.

I have contemplated some sus forks but they don't come up very often with a long enough steerer. Plus i like the simplicity of rigid no worries about wearing the P2's out

They don't cost much more than the standard ones so may as well get magnesium ones as I've read complaints about the weight of the standard ones. Got to be worth a few extra quid

Well you know for a fact that if you were to buy the cheaper steel flats that you'd be cursing yourself every time you saw an ad on the net for the mags although i'm a sucker for the old style VP cage pedals myself as my old MuddyFox Explorer had a pair on when i bought it in 89 and i got addicted to them as i loved them that much ;) ..

Re:

Yeah or when i weigh the dam thing it already seems heavy on the scales (suitcase scales that are always accurate when they get weighed at the airport!) but feels light to me

What are the vp pedals? Like the old xt type?

Re: Merlin malt build thread! New Decals!

I don't have a clue what my bike pedals or bike for that matter actually weighs as i'm a bit like you when it comes down to it so long as the bike is easy enough to lift with very little effort then that's light enough for me .

These are the VP pedals that i'm on about ,

Although the design has altered a little from the 80's but not much .

Re: Merlin malt build thread! New Decals!

Yes i've already cage pedals on my current bike but they will be changed at a later date for the VP version as the VP's tend to roll smoother .
