Mavic 230 came in 230 and 230TIB what was the difference I think the 230 came in at 376 grams anyone know if anything came in lighter, it appears the 230 is lighter than the x517.
Anyone got 230 ( not tib ) in bronze
Cheers

A sub 400g mtb rim is light, there weren't many round at the time, araya 395 was one other, they were lighter than an x517/

A mavic 230 was a lighter and updated version of the 231.

Sadly the 230's we/re not the strongest rims available, mind the 90s brought us some massive changes for mtb with technology, weight and shiny coloured stuff

My 1994 Marin Indian Fire Trail came factory fitted with 230's, think they were the TIB model, or certainly had some letters after the numbers anyway. Don't remember them being bronze but they never cleaned up very well. I remember when I needed one swapping out and the lbs boy said, no never heard of that, only a 230 was made, his face when I showed up and he saw the TIB or whatever letters were on there, magic ;-)

Ended up on this post somehow but
SBP was the code after the unfinished silver ones
TIB was the code after the bronzy-brown-goldey ones
