Stunning bike & story, personally I think it looks better with the chrome levers as opposed to the red ones...
And that's deffo a Peugeot above, the Miche headset shown is std fit for the better models from the 80s/early 90s and the colour scheme is a dead giveaway too.

Thank you for the comments on the machine. I like the red levers currently & there isn't much else to add accept a red cable end on the end of the gear cable.

The 57 ring that is currently on the bike will be replaced with this nice looking drilled out one I have spare. It goes nicely with the rear mech.

57 Ring now fitted to match the rear mech which I have adjusted to sit more of a 4pm position with jockey cage at 7-8pm look better.

Bike has been stripped down so that the frame can get new paint which will be white. Bars getting polished & a Kronos brake added for the rear..
New set of bars has been made so hopefully the rebuild can begin end of September.
