Marin Mount Vision

Evening All,
Just taken delivery of an old Marin Mount Vision that's need of someTLC. The frame has slight pitting to it, nothing too bad, but I'd like to know what's the best thing to get it out with?
Also does anyone know how date it how it from the serial number?

Never had any success at downloading pictures but I'll give it a try.......

Checked the frame and pivot area's and it's looking ok so far.

That has a mark three swingarm with disc mounts so about 1998/99 I think looks ok to me

Swingarm could be a replacement though and the frame could be a 1997 :?

Thanks Marin Man, going to replace the forks, crank, pedals and wheels. Nothing flash, just something that I don't want to have to worry about bending.
Probably fit disc brakes and put the XT V's onto my Dekerf.
