How are you finding the 29s? We're about the same size and I always think I'd be too short for them. How is the stepover?

The ratio for the 26 inch wheels is 32/16
For the 29'ers I used 32/18 but it needs a bit of tweeking for the 29'ers. I used my 32 front and the wheels I bought were unused and came with a 18 freewheel cog in place on the singlespped specific hubs.
Haven't used the 29'ers in action as such, only across the local fields as the new Spanks were done shortly afterwards. Hopefully try them out this weekend and get a better idea.
