Not all plain sailing though, cracked chainstay

Are you knowledgeable in the mysterious ways of the weld, or will that be outsourced?

What's your plan for it?

lose the chainstay and weld a big pivot in place. then mount some old manitou forks in place of the seatstays.

would a spot weld do or just get the whole stay replaced by a frame builder? would be a shame to whack a plate over that. would ruin the lines.

I could weld or braze it myself, but I've not got the time to replace the chainstay at this point. I may contact Shand Cycles for a price. was considering getting some SS dropouts fitted at the same time. I'll decide when I get it. I was intending to start building totally periodish but we'll see. Its third in the q, Kona, Yo, DeKerf, then GT's

The Yo parts bucket is gaining speed, XTR levers and canti's this morning and cranks on the way, I think all I need is chainrings and wheels. Ideally I'd like to get some XTR M900 wheels but I think I may build the hope hubs I have onto some nice rims. Not entirely fitting with the build but will do till I source the M900's.

jez is a fickle man ;)

loverly bike sure you could get it fixed- so you still have another gt coming aswell??????

you were ment to be thinning the herd

the yo will look the business even if it is too small

talked to the LBS about my wheels- he says I have seized nipples but he will lube them up overnight and see if he can twist them tomorrow
