MacRetro chat and rides thread

I'd vote the Drum if it was open on the 27th, old school retro feel, cafe etc

Also I've heard numerous bad vibes about Ae, does not flow or really work and is a bit technical :?

Ease of getting to should be a consideration in Midwinter.

Alternative site might be Blair Adam by Dunfermline, old school single track forest. The ken has stomped there in the past as has DaveDH.
I reckon it could be an easy to get to meet as its off junction 3 of M90 literally beside the motorway so could bring in some of the more northerly bodies.
Also Dunfermline easy to access for food if needed.

I might check it out over the coming week as I've got a week off. Mind you also finally going to Whinlatter in Cumbria as I'm having a couple of nights in a youth hostel a couple of miles away from it :D

Just bought a gate from LGF, its the one he retired from Peaks ride on, a Nishiki Cascade

Delivery in a couple of weeks post our respective holidays.

14 bikes, no more unlucky 13

that is a nice looking bike even given its gigantic proportions ;) really like it, is this your cyclocross machine or have you gone all tomac on us and will be flying down inners on it?

Should be up for the 27th Velo, good on yer for organising.

Happy to trundle anywhere and new is always good - funnily enough, I was speaking to a guy down at GT a couple of weeks ago, talking about what we did/didn't like riding - reckoned I'd like Drum, so will need to try at some point.

any of you lads got a black lx rear der. Before I post in the wanted, one I got for the univega is fecked. I will start a new thread with the updated pics in a few moments, see my sig below- I'll bring the pink cables ok sat kaiser.

New bike frame and fork when it eventually gets through at the end of the month will be built up toward original spec.

Admittedly it will look rightish but not with the higher level of spec as my bikes are parts bin specials.

Plan to use it as a sprightlier performing alternative to the more basic hardrock. Geometry looks similar to the hardrock so should be good trail centre plodder :D

to be fair, velo is a bit of a racing whippet. I still don't understand why he is not bringing one of his retro stead's to represent the macretro massive at kielder?

How are you getting on with the dale TK?
