ZigZag, there was no Suntour mechs for you to vandalise but if my one is acceptably less scruffy than the one on the Hardrock then a swaps possible provided yours works. I'm not bothered about aesthetics or bodges as I'm sure your now aware.

Also if your feeling bike daft in the future I have a Trek 8500 alloy frame from 1990 in 20" that I raced at SSUK09. I think it would suit you better than me and its dead cheap ;)

Velo, thanks for looking and very kind of you to offer a swap, but if I can get it working via a bodge I'll be happy, and for that I may need to avail myself of your extensive knowledge in that area :D I was never concerned with the looks, this isn't going to be a strip and respray job  (famous last words)

I'm trying to restrain myself to one 'new' bike at a time. I'm justifying the Rockhopper to myself since it was cheap, a Spesh, needs a bit of work, is steel and has old school geo - should be an interesting experience fettling and then riding.

I'll need to get a look at the Trek at some point though, it does tick the 'cheap' box :) Shame its not a mid-90's stumpy, I'd break my one new bike rule for that...

Velo a 25mm USE post might be your best option you can then get shims to use it on what ever bike you like - although it might cost more than the falcon is worth :) ;)

Why do old bikes not have standard sized bits. I've searched the Bike Station top to bottom over several weeks for a 26mm diameter post for my Falcon Pathfinder. Looks like I may have to buy new and even thats difficult, any of you'se guys got a 26mm diameter post.

I've got some 1-1/8th threaded P2's - just fitted them to miniKens 46er frame, look quite good ;)

it's these... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... fe=sidebar

If you come across any Orange f7 forks with the right length steerer I would be willing to swap. Although they are due me another £5er on top for the fitting of the crown race.

I'll keep my eye out for some F7's for ya but there should be enough floating about t'internet :D

When you getting it?

Kaiser, I'll go in on Saturday to get the forks if theyre still there but I think it wise you tell me the length of steerer required in case theyre not long enough. Should be sub £20 if not sub £10, very little is pricy in the Bike Station. Also I'm sure there is a set of straight bladed orange forks currently on ebay or maybe I imagined it.

Also thanks for spotting the Bankrupt bikes seatpost, purple is a bit of a clash with custard yellow but when has that stopped me

I'm getting worried, there is a slight danger I may have 4 or more operational bikes soon

Velo purple ano and custard are the perfect match :D now you need more purple ano.

If indeed they are that price, yes please :D ideally the steerer has to be at least 135mm threaded but whatever I'll sort it somehow :)

Operational bike quotient is a worry I have 4 mtb's and nearly 5  with 3 in the pipeline
