Since you put it that way, does sound ideal way to dip yer wick :D I got caught up in my singletrack back issues

Big jaunt into haggis land does sound the baws though :D

Aye, should get a proper highland epic organised for the spring next year- proper one way in, one way out hell fest! Problem with the southern hills is that you are always pretty close to civilization and roads etc for an epic- and that's the best of the borders- rest of it is just farmland so we have our limits.
We'll treat this one as a taster session.

Any recommendations on what to put in my hipflask?

Si

For the hip flasks I recommend Tizer :D

Velo do you still fancy trying a cyclocross this year?

Any islay malt is very nice or some scapa if you want some fire in your gizzards.

Btw I am going to pollock tomorrow morning if anyone is up for a spin, shake down of the clockwork :D

Kaiser,as regards cyclo cross, yes I'd like to give it a go but I suspect I will not be a regular participant.

Also the BSA 10 speed has evolved into a tourer not a racer, think I'll have to save up for a modern racer if I want to compete against you

Good show, reckon its far more suited to a fast tourer/audax. Saying that change of tyres to 23's or 25's and it'll be almost as quick over distance.

The SCX has a blog with provisional venues and dates if you want a look, I reckon I'd only be doing a couple too, just looks good fun :)

here is the provisional calendar for 09

Oct 4 Plean, Stirlingbike Club
18 Auchentoshan Glasgow United
25 Mugdock Glasgow Mountainbike Club
31 Aviemore Velo Club Moulin

Nov 1 Aviemore Velo Club Moulin
15 Cowdenbeath Sandy Wallace Cycles
29 Irvine Walkers Cycles

Dec 5 Glenrothes Championship
12/13 Mull Mull and Iona Junior CC

Oooooooo were nearly at 150 pages :o I wonder what the break down is

Mugdock could be a good one for October and Cowdenbeath for November, one west coast and one east 8)

Need to decide on a steed, maybe the White Lightning in SS mode :D

Had a wee look at the SCX site, cool logo.

I think we should just start with the first race at that High School in Bailieston, Glasgow. Looks like a traditional CX race, £10 on the day. Easy for me to get to by train and for you as well.

Need to get skinny tyres and some drops or moustache bars, just for the look of it if nothing else

Sounds fun, knackering, but fun

Could be a good way of staying SS fit for next year.
