Jamie, if your prepared to come all the way to the pentlands for a ride then Brit steel is not a must. Bring your oldest Spesh then the technology would be similar at least

ZigZag, yes the velomobile was in the lowest carpark, easiest for the AA to spot when it breaks down :roll: Shame I didn't know you were there, on weekends where an organised run is not happening give me and DaveDH a shout. As a result of surviving the black I really attacked the blue descent, charging all the way non stop flat out, what a buzz, actually used the berms in electric blue to carry speed into corners sans brakes :shock:
Finally, Yes Dave you are correct, The Black is for the most part just old school XC but in dire need of a resurface. The climbs can be fierce some of which are not worth repeating and all the really technical stuff is on the last bit after redemption that I did not do this time. Personally if weather and time permits I'll use the black to reach the top of Spooky from now on, its a nice if long ride.
