...so this SS thing....is it not compulsory to have a chain tensioner adjuster thingy ?

....not that I'm at all interested in making one of course :)

I've still got to run a tensioner whereas gazz's stumpy has semi horizontal dropouts and he can tensioner the chain thusly so.

Gazz its looking good 8) the qr will more than hold the wheel in. Just get it brung :) did you use the more modern qr's you had?

Or you can get lucky with chainstay length, i dont use a tesioner on my E3, works fine with 32/16 and a standard Shimano chain, chain is very slightly tight when new but perfect once bedded in, obviously this would be buggered if i tried a different ratio.

Clunker works, rides well, isnt as ugly as I thought, as a teenage kid thought it looked cool 8)

Best bit is the really wide cruiser style pull back bars I got for £1.50 this very afternoon .

Can be ridden offroad but it weighs a ton, has track ends so SS is no bother.Needs bar brace, tugnuts and better rear brake pads

I'll attempt to get pics onto flikr.

Finally the Muddyfox and Kit are looking really good, enjoy tomorrow.

What do you'se all think of this as a cheap mo*ernish Klunker project ?

Thought i'd ask on here instead of the main forum through fear of getting flammed, got my fire proof undercrackers on just in case anyhooo so keep the pilot lights on

Would be painting it midnight blue with a cream scaloped front, maybe artificially aged/shonked, removed brake bosses with a coaster brake P2's, big Halo rims with DMR tyres, huge bars (maybe motorcycle Renthals), Brooks seat, and maybe a d*sc on the front.

Got my eye on this

Obviously then it'd be off to the market for a check lumberjack shirt and some rigger gloves

I considered one of those frames Mark, just do it, it'll be a laugh if nothing else

Also though there is a steel Raleigh Cruiser frame of quite an age on the bay at the moment you might want to consider.

Yeah, i noticed that, the pre-war thing, suspect it'd be miles too big for me though.
