mine makes a nice creaking noise too, just to make me feel at ease.

Try taking Cod Liver Oil Gazz, works a treat on old joints. Won't have to blame the bike then!

Ooooo desk job eh! Poor thing, those paperclips, the central heating in winter, the water cooler, och tis a tough trade.

Not exactly a north sea trawlerman, hill farmer or a miner then Gazz?

So finally get the bike running again, set up and tickety boo. Pump up the tyre for a test run and......................sidewall of the rim has decided to give

do you have a replacement?

I messed with the brakes and it took 2 hrs to get them back up and running again (feckin canti's)- note to self, if it is working best to leave well alone.

Troubles

Hi guys
Just back in the door, what a bloody night. I had to fix the muffler on the VW as it was loose. Well it was loose because of the three bolts holding the massively heavy muffler in place, two had disappeared and the third, located at the front of a triangular plate was still there. The only problem was that the bolt was still done up but the casting it was attached to is now no longer attached to the gearbox
But as we say back home, ' she'll be right' so with a tin of fosters, a bit of string and a lot of swearing I am still on schedule for the weekend.
Well it was really a couple of hours of brute force and ignorance forcing 'borrowed' new bolts into the damaged threads in the gearbox housing. I will just have to pack in the morning as its too late now.
Really looking forward to this one, be great to see everyone again and to meet those from south of the border, mexicans......oh sorry, English.
I will have tyres and headset for Gaz and the FSR for Mark, will also bring a load of stuff for swaps. Anybody like a van?
Kaiser and Gaz I will PM my mobile number to you ( in case they stop me at the border)
Jamie

jamie are you serious about sleeping in the van? Give me a shout and you can have a roof over your head- indeed we will be leaving from jimi's (paisley) in the morning so I'm sure he would give you a billet if you don't want to come all the ways down to mine?

Such tales of woe and mechanical trouble.

Got a 17T sprocket fitted onto a wheel on standby last nght- should any failures or serious mechanicals in Trumpton on Saturday thwart our galant clansmen, I can now have one of my fleet rigged and readied to sail forth and do battle in SS mode.
Had better keep the ramp free in the garage too for Janeys van by the sound of things. (By the way, it's an exhaust over here, not a muffler  )

Still on for 9:30ish??

Si

if its a bay window the mrs will want that but theres no way im helping take an engine out in the middle of a field
