do you have a replacement?

I messed with the brakes and it took 2 hrs to get them back up and running again (feckin canti's)- note to self, if it is working best to leave well alone.

Aye I have another  the worst thing was there was nothing wrong and took it upon myself to erse aboot.

Got a 17T sprocket fitted onto a wheel on standby last nght- should any failures or serious mechanicals in Trumpton on Saturday thwart our galant clansmen, I can now have one of my fleet rigged and readied to sail forth and do battle in SS mode.

Still on for 9:30ish??

Do you actually have a SS? and 9:30 is cool, do we have a meeting point?

Which way you coming down? Thrunton is on an unclassified road just off the A697, about 7 miles SE of Alnwick.

Dr's directions
From Edinburgh I'd take the A68 at Dalkeith then onto the A697 through Coldstream and Wooler (watch for cameras on the Scottish side of the border) for a nice quiet scenic amble.

Once through Wooler you will have a turn to the left for Alnwick and New Bewick but continue straight on the A697

After Powburn (petrol and snacks on left) you will see a sign for Thrunton Village on your right, ignore this and continue a mile or so.

Keep an eye out for the woods on the hillside to your right and a brick works down in the dip. Road steadily climbs for half a mile then there is a sweeping left over crest with a phone mast on the outside of the apex- turning for Thrunton woods is hairpin right behind mast (be carefull- its a nasty little junction). If you get to the Rothbury/Alnwick cross-roads you have gone too far!!

Follow this narrow lane a mile or so down the hill, over the little humped bridge and back up the side ofthe hill for another 3/4 of a mile. Car park is on your left.

Clear as mud

here they are Kaiser

Frankenshite is 36/13 SS but on slicks, very narrow bars and single brake for traffic dodging comuting, probably not very suitable. I've put a 17T on another wheel so that one of FATs can be quickly readied for you guys in an emergency. Just swap the wheel and whip off the mechs and bobs her uncle.
Pissing down with rain down here. Forcast is more of the same for tomorrow
