Re:

Enjoy your time down there with the smoggies, I lived in Redcar for a few years (and only a brief few years thank god!).
Weather is looking good for tomorrow 8)

Interesting how these bikes and parts come into our possession sometimes isn't it?
I just bought a Cannondale from a chap who found it whilst clearing out a garage for a friend, i believe the previous owner had passed away. :(

My other half says she hopes she goes before me, she doesn't want to have to deal with all the bikes and related stuff I've accumulated

Jamie, I’m surprised you’re not at Comrie for the singlespeed nationals. Mind you I bet it was a brutal day out. I struggle there with 32x50!

Re:

I decided a long while back that the Jack Taylor weekend would come first this year. The single speed isn’t the same without Brian anyway, though I did have his entry but to be honest, I have a bit going on and it would just be too much as I thought of doing it Sat then driving down here for Sunday morning but to be honest it would just make both things stressful.
Yeah it was a good buy. I have been worried about buying it off of photos and from a guy who knows nothing about bikes. It was a fair price but seeing the condition and the fact he threw the wheels in it is now a bargain.
I helped originally to identify it and pointed him to where to sell it. I was glad I paid his wife as the money was for his mother in law. She had no idea and only vaguely remembered it coming from her sister in law when she passed. Clearly covered in the bag as while a couple of chips the paintwork is bright and vibrant and the only defect is the Reynolds 531 decal is crinkled and all dried and flaking as these went on after clear oat. So not protected. Wheels have some pinpoint rust spots but not a mark of fitting, use and never had a brake pad touch them. I knew what it was as the guy gave me the number and I have access to the copies of Ken Taylor s build books so knew the size, model and the fact it was finished on 23/7/1963

Re:

Am I right in thinking Garmin do servicing?
My Edge 800 screen has frozen and none of the buttons are functioning.
It's probably needing updating anyway.
