LX 539 or XT M739 big chainring option

The chainring/spider for Shimano 539 and 739 is expensive, any options for this?

They did do an "adaptor" that took standard four/five bolts rings - not sure if they are any cheaper, and possibly harder to find than the rings.

As above. If you want a good set of rings (lx) I'm going to be selling an lx crank I think.

Re:

Some cranks has a separate chainring and spider, mine has unfortunately but cooler looking integrated spider chainring.

You might find you can use the adapter from the similar looking STX crankset, and there was one in
the for sale section for 15 quid recently, it's 4 bolt.

Just went through the same thing. I eventually found a cheap pair of 175mm XT cranks to steal the 5 arm 94mm BCD spider from. I have also seen the integrated chainrings for a reasonable price, some listed on ebay US recently for $35 shipped.

I have a decent condition large spider/ring that came off my 170mm cranks, although it might be an LX. Was thinking about doing horrible things to it with a saw and grinder to use as a single speed spider. If someone needs it just shoot me a PM.
