I would also buy, restore & customise a 23 window samba from the early 60's along with a fully restored original karmann ghia, they are simply stunning in the flesh.

i would have agreed with you on the samba front a few years ago but i am really losing my passion for splits. a few years ago if you saw a split sat on the floor on a nice set of wheels you knew the owner is a dedicated vw freak.

now when i see them i just think "someone's got too much money" or that they are trend followers.

:?

maybe i'm just gutted they went sky high before i could afford to buy one

I'd probably (if pushed) go to the Brabus factory and order one of them, although not sure exactly which model now, as Mercs are getting uglier and uglier imo.

I know where theres a cheap one that needs a little tlc

Proof that Brabus brakes are much better than those of a French peasant farmer's old Peugoet.

Mine would probably be this order.

Run around. Focus RS500 (Soon to be released)

Something for the weekend. MASERATI GranTurismo S MC Sport Line.

Classic. DR S Alfa ;)

If you were minted to the max and had money pouring out of every orifce of your body, you wouldn't need a car.

Daily transport would be a helicopter or private jet but if you felt like a drive, you'd just phone your local 'Jeeves' luxury car-hire bod and get him to bring around a Mclaren F1, Veyron, whatever, fully fuelled and insured and phone him when you've finished with it ..... or get someone to phone for you!

... probably too busy riding your Klein around you 5,000 acre private forest!

Fantasy over!! :p
