I think huret had to polish, to compete at the "campagnolo" end of the market, where price and quality could be determined simply by the level of polishing

The pearl anodising on Huret top end parts was way better than Campagnolo (sorry Campagnolo!)

Personally I really love Campag’s Valentino era finishing. But (for derailleurs at least) FiR Gemini and Ofmega Premier are possibly the nicest…?

This Cyfac built Raleigh in 653 has a frame weight of 1750gr. Not far off 753.

A while back I had a Ribble made of 653 Record (drawn to 0.4/0.7 I think). Never weighed the frame but it was a flyer, if a little flexi under power.

Dave Quinn, around 55cm, well under 1800g in 653. Not taking everything off to check, but will be stripping it soon to start prepping it.
