Thrown together for a bit of fun! Picked the frame up last year as it was too good to miss. I’ve built this to ride and hack about on hence the 1 x 10 drivetrain. I am uncertain of the frames age but judging by the v-brake only mounts I’d say late 90’s. The complete bike weighs in at 22.7 lbs which is crazy light for a steel bike with suspension forks.
I know it won’t be to everyone’s taste but I’ve got a soft spot for these US built Lobsters.

Like it. What pedals you going to fit? Love the CK headset. Fancy one day fitting those cranks on my Sanderson. Love Rock Lobster

Thanks. I’ll try and find some SPD’s to match the other kit. XTR M970. I’ll take more pics when I get chance too

Turns out that this Rock Lobster frame is officially retro and dates back to 1996. Built for mike Ahrens a US supplier of frame building components ie Dropouts, chainstay yokes etc. This post really needs moving to pre 98 section. It makes the frame way more valuable to me knowing this information 👌

Looks great, been after something similar but you’ve got the disc mounts so use them. If you wanna keep it retro bag some Hopes even an old pair holds up today.
