Raleigh Dynatech Decade

Re:

Quite like the build sans bar ends, but there are these on the 'bay at the moment...

II would go with rounded end X-Lite stubbies myself I think. I'm still scratching my head for other Euro brands, I know for the UK there were Kolo titanium, Venhill, Fibre Lyte...No doubt some others will chip in :)

They’re quite nice - though a bit worn!
Tune do some nice bar ends but they’re modern
Original Can spec had long xlite such as these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184408545757

I actually prefer it sans bar ends as it is - but the right set fitted may change that
Black or anodised red?

Bugger me that's nice. Respect for doing something a little different - certainly didn't pick the 'easy' route of XT/XTR and US boutique parts.

Thank you - I appreciate the comments - as I wanted something different but elegant
I’m actually considering removing The red Anodised xlite bits for Sachs and campag bits - Sachs have some lovely new success QR skewers - and campag have some nice bolts to use on the Record OR cantis.

Just a few more bits have arrived
Waiting for the cabling and housing to finish

Campag Crank bolts/dust caps
Campag Euclid NOS pedals and seat QR

Thing about this campag stuff - it’s very nice - looks superb and very well made - but it’s heavy! The Euclid pedals dwarf my other ones and easily add weight - along with the crankset the campag deer binder (heavy) - even so the bike is very light - I’m not a weight weenie so not bothered as it’s lighter than my wife’s M800 by quite a bit
I can imagine that with ultra light parts this would be a sub 20 lb bike.

After 2 and a half months I’ve managed to finish this build.
The only thing left is to adjust the cantilevers and the gears then ride it when the weather is fair.
I’ll take some photos and give some thoughts.

Amazing. Well done, honestly was/is my unicorn bike. Have enjoyed following this build
Thanks - I’ll set the brakes and gears up and take it for a spin when the weather clears
I’ll then probably end up selling it as is. It’s in such nice condition and looks so nice that I don’t feel like spoiling it !
