Would you be able to show a picture of the Dropouts, which I assume are without the Triangle cut-out?

.... And could you confirm that the tape starts at the centre of the Bottom Bracket in the 2nd picture that shows a measurement of 22" to the top of the Seat Tube?

If you glance at the Serial Number List, you'll see that this is the sort of detail that is documented on there, and is helpful for my own records as well.

Here a couple snaps of the knockouts and confirmation of the seat tube length. I measured at 21.75" to the bottom of the nut and 22" to the top of the nut

Rightyho, I have updated the Kona Hot Serial Number List, with a couple of interesting entries.

Firstly, a dinky little 1997 14" Stars 'n' Bars - blimey, that could have be a real treat for a little kiddie back then .

Finally, the rather unique 1994 22" frame in Burgundy from IndiFal. I have a vast collection of Kona bikes documented in my records, and I'm not aware of any other X.C. frame in this size.

Here is my 16” Kona Hot for the list I bought it from a friend for my wife. She rode it for some years as well as I myself. Purple fade into white. This is one of two bikes I never could part with over the years but sadly it has been stored in a shed. I plan on stripping it down repainting, drop bar 1x11 resurrection. Anyone have any good suggestions for a bottom bracket I’d love suggestions . I found some decals on eBay but the prestige and head tube are not correct I don’t plan on using the Joe Murray decals. If anyone has a better decal source I’d again love suggestions

I’ll take more photos soon when I get it in the stand and clean it up some.

Thank you very much for the picture of the Serial Number of your Hot. I'm very keen to see some pictures of the whole bike or frame, which I can file in my records.

Going by the Serial Number alone, it should be a 1991 model.

I think many members on here would prefer to see the original paint retained, rather than repainting it - this was part of the Custom Build of the Hot frames.

There is a member on this site who can supply Decals, if you think it will improve the appearance of your frame.

Any Bottom Bracket that you fit will depend on the Crank that you intent to use.

Yea I got you on the original paint. I respect that. I appreciate that there’s people out there who will keep the bikes original for prosperity.

The bike was rode hard till it became obsolete to ride for its intended purpose I sure rebuilt my mag 20 many times. If I had a decent 1” steer tube suspension it probably would never have been resigned to the shed. So me being me and my left hand brain I concocted an idea. To get this and a Fat Chance Wicked built up as Gravely, errand perhaps even bike pack tripy bikes.

Thank you very much for these pictures. You have a truly superb example of a 1991 Tom Teesdale built Hot.

In my view you do not need to do anything to it regarding refurbishing the frame - you will struggle to find a cleaner example. I think many members on here will agree with that opinion.

Maybe just touch up the Chain Suck on the D/S Chain Stay, and a few other blemishes - just use an appropriate Auto Touch Up paint, or Humbrol Modeling paint.

Regarding your Bottom Bracket, I would fit a Shimano Cartridge Sealed unit. You'll easily be able to find a UN51 or UN55 (LX) series or the better quality UN71 (XT) series, or even the UN91 (XTR) series. If you intend to keep your existing Crank, just measure the length of that Square Taper Axle, and look for a Cartridge unit with the same length that has an English thread 1.37 x 24tpi for a 68mm Bottom Bracket shell.
