I'm keeping the headset now. I just bought some new bearings for it.
After thinking it was seized when I tried to undo it (when stripping the bike), I found when I was cleaning it that there is an allen bolt that you have to undo first to loosen it!

Unfortunately the paint job isn't very good. It's not too bad, but isn't as good as I was hoping for.
I'm going to leave it for a week or so before giving it a good polish, then fit the stickers.

After emailing 20 companies, phoning another 10 I have found some 3X1.5mm PTFE tubing in white.
There is a small order charge.
Does anyone else want some before I order?

Almost finished now:

It's a bit dirty as I've been riding it.
Made a V brake converter (of sorts) that works.

found they weigh more than modern suspension forks (more than half the weight of the frame!) @ 2.2lbs

Show me a worthwhile suspension fork that weighs under 2.2lb and I'll show you someone whose scales are broken
