The tubing is still available from your trek dealer, but given your location, might take a little bit of time. Shouldn't be more than a few pounds for it.

Some guy was selling it on ebay for 10x it's real price recently. If you have access to a friend in an industrial setting, this tubing is simply 1/8" nylon tubing. It's available in rolls of 100 feet for $20 or so from industrial supply houses.

Just looked it up: http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/items/4HM09, pretty standard equipment.

there you go

you don't really need the full length of the nylon tubing. just shove the inner cable through the top tube and use a short piece of the tubing from inside the brake bridge to one inch or so insde the top tube. you should have a long enough piece left. it's not difficult to get the cable through the frame without the tube. just position the frame such that the exit is at the deepest point, make a slight kink at the end of the cable and push it into the entry hole. don't push beyond the exit hole. usually it finds it's way out of the top tube with just a bit of pushing back and forward. if it is stubborn hold a strong enough magnet close to the exit hole and presto.

same with the shifter cables. they don't need the full lenght either and shifting is better without the tubing. just put a short piece over the cable where they left the leave the frame. 2" inside the frame 1" outside.

Stamped BAT851 - translated as ???

The early Klein serials don't tell you the manufacturing month/year but since your Attitude has Klein logos on the headset seals, it's 1990 model since the 1991 models didn't have those logos on the seals anymore.

Congrats for a nice frame!

BAT851 is a 1990 model and one made middle to late in the 1990 model year run. The other reason you can tell its a 1990 is that they had the serial numbers BATnnn, the 1991 model year serial had Axxx (xxx=letters & numbers). That said, I understand that some 1990 models were sold as 1991's.

Beautiful. I could live with that level of fade!

Now to find one in 17" real terms (what is that in Klein sizes?).
