I've got one that is going in a few days time, I built it and rode it purely to see what it was like.

I never had one back in the day, and was always curious about them.

They may not be the greatest bikes in the world, but there is something about them that intrigues me and if I had more space I'd be keeping it.

I rode old an old alu bike as well as an old carbon bike and I've not broken one yet so I'd happily ride it.

If it was all about performance no one would be using cantis and the like anyway, would they?

This site is as much about evolutionary dead ends as it is high end pedigree race frames of yesteryear and the bikes that first brought mountain biking to people.

If its's interesting it is in.

(that said I am no Kirk fan, I never understood the "space age" lightweight frame being shipped with Shimano Altus etc components.

At least you feel a little better! I had never heard of Kirk bikes until here and read of their rather fragile reputation. But as Jimo746 points out, they have a rather interesting and pleaseing form on the eye. Just take care riding down a kerb :shock:

nuance and sophistication are not things i am able to employ it is just my poor attempt at Humour

Just be aware that i feel about you exactly the same as would French if you joked he is German just because Germany invaded France at some point.
Or as would Gaza Palestinian if you joked he is a Jew just because they are under Israels occupation

I think you will find that The French are completely at home with the Germans economically and socially to the exclusion of all the other European countries.
As for insulting your nationality you simply interpreted my comment wrongly I have nothing but respect for the Polish especially those who bravely fought on against the Germans with the allies to those who fought the Russians when they occupied your country right through to today when I now admire the work ethic of your countrymen who get upoff their backsides to up sticks and work hard for a living in other countries.
I have employed Polish ,Slovakian, Hungarian au pairs and have had no complaints.
So what do you say shall we just get over it...if I insulted you it was not my intention to do so and pleasew accept my apology
