Just bought this🙄

Talking about stuffing bikes into houses, I remember going to see a pair of wheels in a big flat in old Edinburgh. It had an enormous square hallway with all the rooms off it. There must've been 20 bikes in the hallway, and as I passed another door to a room, it was stuffed full of bikes and frames to the gunnels.

The guy was, how can I put it: a fair bit weird. He took me to a big walk in cupboard which was absolutely rammed with bike parts. There was loads of Campagnolo in boxes. I asked if he was a mechanic or owned a bike shop 'No, just like bikes, eh?'

It was only then that I noticed on the back of the doors he had about 2 foot square of tiny mirrors glued into them. He caught me looking... 'So ye can see him coming, know what I mean?'. I made my excuses and left without the Shimano Dura Ace large flange wheels, quick style. I heard he died in the very same flat a few years later and they had to break the door down because it was almost barricaded with bikes. The local bike recycling had a field day!

A fairly basic Elswick, but charming Norex saddle, missing a nose adjuster, sure i can find one and I bet its brooks- compatible. worth £20

Milremo stem worth £15

And a pair of saturne-rimmed 27 clinchers, handy to assemble a nice vintage piece, value£40.

So although most of it will be recycled😪 a lot will go on to save other vulnerable and elderly machines in the twilight of their days. 😃
