To NOS or not NOS, that is the question 😵

I visited Tokyo earlier in the year for a trade show, and took in a little 'bike jumble' along the way. I've never seen so much NOS in one place in all my life. The culture there seems to be to build something that you can show if to your peers, at any cost! There were several sets of Delta brakes in the boxes, and one century finish set. I wasn't tempted at equivalent 5 grand sterling....

If you're ever visiting in spring, this is the one to go to: Cycle Mode. 3000 stalls

It’s 100% gonna’ get fitted and used!

Try finding this set without it already being fitted to a production Campagnolo equipped bike (£££ & rare!!!) or spending a fortune on individual used parts (tatty). Didn’t spend a fortune on it either, but was bought at least 5 years ago for a very slow burner project!

if i had the money, i would always buy nos.

Surprisingly NoS often represents best value.

Trouble is that if you wait long enough it occasionally becomes more expensive than when it was new "new" stock.

Late 90s I bought tons of NoS inch ritchey rigid Forks (rrp £75 iirc) , Threaded and ahead.
I think they cost £20 trade, down from 40.
If I had any now they'd easily be £80, still better quality than what youget at £140.
- sold the last ones 20 years ago iirc😪
