Only the shifters to sort then I presume? I can´t really see it exactly, is it 7 or 8 speed?

It's an 8 speed, I may have some shifters lined up hence I'm waiting before I change the cables.

Plus I want to change the levers /cantilevers eventually as they're not to my taste.

Ah, forgot about the brakes . Ok 8sp also have nice shifters and they work a bit better than the previous 7sp. Plus they don´t have the problem of cracking plastic housings.
You can of course also use the road shifters with thumbie adapters. Surely the $$$ option, but man do they look sexy:
