Jaguar

I guess the test will be the next car that Jaguar release. The copy nothing caption is a bit strange given how so many cars look similar these days.

Mr Two Jags has just died, so they need to move on and embrace a word stage. They are an Indian company after all,
And they need to create a similar image but different style to their full SUV chav/drop of at the school/drug dealer cars, aka Land Rover side of Jaguar.

I work in the creative industry and this rebrand had caused a HUGE stir with lots of condemnation. Someone with big balls (or not!) will have signed this off and their balls (or no balls) are currently on the line. Obviously completely alienates the current target market.

I keep saying we are going to see a lot of vehicle manufacturers fall away from the marketplace in the next few years, that based on EV mandate & such, but decisions like this from Jag will bring about a different cause of death. Someone somewhere thought this was a good idea. I hope the chinese like it, seeing as a lot of the design & marketing of cars is now aimed squarely at that market.

I met one of these in the last stretch of my ride today.
I was going up a narrow icy hill, white van parked on my left.
Big LR turns in and carries on squeezing past me, doing his best to ignore my sarcastic invites to carry on!
What a complete jerk, I had to stop on an icy uphill so his Lordship could pass.

As a serial FType owner I’m watching with interest.

The Chinese market is killing the European EV offering, plain and simple. Pivot to full electric is dangerous given the rise of synthetic fuels (Porsche being a big supporter) and an inability to swing back.

Having spent a good amount of time in the automotive industry this isn’t a surprise. Europe got its fingers burned with the Korean brands that were laughed at ten years ago and are now their pound for pound equals (if not betters).

Things change. Time will tell if for the better. Seemingly they are dead in the water if they evolve, and equally so if they don’t. How many commentators (genuine market, not RB) are actually in the market as customers?

I’m in the privileged position that my next car will be electric, but there will be an ICE car in the garage for fun.

I'm guessing, and this is none PC me, it is aimed at people who want to be called they them etc.
Our local hospital is spending money on new badges for all the they thems.
My audiologist is a they them, in Doc Martens, a skirt, half a beard, and thinning ginger hair with nascent bald spot!

I’d suspect that their marketing agency probably knows a bit more about its customer base (present, but more importantly future) than many others. The demographic of “typical” customers is changing and they need to move quickly to provide what people want.

How those people identify is totally irrelevant, as the prime requirement is that Jaguar identifies them as “customer”. The “they/them/their” pound has exactly the same value as a “he/she” pound. In fact, given the demographic associated, added to potential future brand loyalty, it’s probably worth considerably more.

Akin to an “I’m not racist, but…” post.

Take it somewhere else.

You mean what they've been bombarded with, brainwashed, and led down the garden path to want. As always.

I wouldn't touch any of this with a 6 foot long shitty stick. Call me a late adopter with arrested development.
