Is your first LBS Still going? Where was/ Is it?

Yes and no.

Berkshire Cycles in Crowthorne (where the majority of my bikes including the Maverick GT, Holdsworth and ClaudButler came from) is still running and as good as ever.

Cycology also in Crowthorne went bust and were brought by Berkshire Cycles (Wifes Trek came from there at that time) but closed the shop and moved the stock to the other site. I used to ride in the club BITD and was good mates with Stefan Gleed, who I seem to remember was a sponsored racer.

Local Raleigh main dealers Sylvester Bros and Fleet Cycles are still going too, all be it in different guises I think.

Carl.

Tudhopes, Cathcart, Glasgow approx 1970  - now a toy shop I think. Either that or a Noodle Bar

my local is still there but under a newer name.

hardisty cycles, byker.

still remember the black and white lycra the team wore etc, pretty sure JMC rode for them back in the day too

now part of the edinburgh cycle co-op group.

Edinburgh bike coop - still there, I wasn't a spotty youth though, I was a spotty student, before that all my bike came from Grattan's catalog.

northern dirt in frodsham, cheshire. worked there 11years ago, amazing stock but folded 2 years after i left  shame they had a decent dh team aswell :(

worked in Pedal Power Loughborough.. Still there under different owner. Also used to use Julies Cycles in Leicester which has become very much an unfriendly place. My bike porn arena used to be Manitou dealer Sshockwave in Notts.. Not there now :(

my first bike shop was bike services in helston cornwall, i worked in there for a while untill it closed...:( grate days!!!

Oooh several...

Arthur Caygills in Richmond which is still going
Hamsterley Forest Cycles in Barnard Castle which closed a good few years ago.
Denton Cycles in Newcastle-upon-Tyne before they moved to the new premises on the Scotswood Road
Hardisty's also up the Byker way in Toon
Oh and the absolutely crap Darlington Cycle Centre too - I think they've closed now as well.

bikeshop in cornwall

mine was wyatts cycles near st austell in cornwall... later known as cycle necleus,
but when the owners( friends of mine) sold it to some people who didnt know what they where doing, it went downhill and closed
it was knocked down and now a house is built in its place :(

Hot Pursuit in Totnes. Sill going, but in name only. The original location on the high street, (used to be Wheeler Sports) closed when the manager (John Spur?) left. I believe a shop of the same name is now on the industrial estate a stone throw from Middleburn.

The other shop I favoured was more road orientated is I think still going: Colin Lewis in Paignton.
