Is your bike worth more than your car?

I could say our car Peugeot Partner and my Colnago EPS are quite even, about 6000€ each. Then we have couple other bikes also...

Yep. Had mine and a mates bike on a bood lid rack the other day and was joking that what was strapped to the car was worth more than the car.

There are levels, when your collective bike are worth more then your car and when you have a single bike worth more than your car, then when you have several individual bikes worth more than your car I reckon I have 2 possibly 3 that are individually worth more than my car.

Car: Mk. IV VW Jetta (Bora) - paid $4500 about 10 months ago.

Bikes: 2008 Trek Fuel EX8 $3000, 1998 GT Xizang $2000 - I can stop at two!

I usually buy 'quality bangers' (old 7 series etc for a grand). I've always had a bike that was worth at least twice the value of my car BUT at 'new' prices my BMWs were about 30 to 40 grand!!!

Well typically my decent bike is worth more than my daily driver at any point, so yeah I've always thought about the nutsness of that! Bikes also usually a lot newer though since I'm in retro ownership now, not strictly so!

However on the whole despite none of my cars being recognisably posh I'd say I'd got a big pot of money poured into my 6 cars, one of em especially! :roll:

And a pot a little bit smaller on my bikes with I stopped counting.

Both the bu88ers bancrupt me!
