I know there were lots of variants, and the ti road bikes are great, but what's this one, it's come up locally, but the rubbish brakes as opposed to nice cantis has made me think it's a sheep in wolfs clothing

Ti main tubes, cro-no rear, alloy lugs.
Not a bad frame tbh, I quite liked mine.
If it's a good price it may be worth a shot.

Nah. Not XT v's or Thumbies. Look like DX thumbies and STX RC V's and levers.

Not stx-rc v's they use pads with studs, those use pads with nuts on and the cut away profile on the main shaft looks like the xt 739 vbrake, can't make out if they use the parallel push mech as the pics are bad.
