I need a 8 speed sachs freewheel BSC thread
they are pretty tricky to source (or very expensive on ebay)
As the final cog on 8 speed sachs freewheel is actually two cogs bound together, I wonder if the freewheel body is actually identical to a 7 speed one ?
Designers would have just invented this "ploy" to be able to add another speed
I have got several maillard freewheels ( later taken over by sachs - so maillard cogs can be uses on sachs frewheels) but no 7 speed one
The 8 speed is about 33mm thick
The 6 speed is 27mm thick
Can I be smart and use a 7 speed body ?
I know these freewheels for 130mm hubs are not vey common but I have found Mavic 501 "hubbed wheels" with decent mavic rims and I wish to use these !
