Insomnia

that show was great.... I think.... considering I only ever watched it either after the Pub, or even worse, after the Club, and was definately not in the straighted frame of mind

Ha I rememeber when the telly used to finish. Then it was jobfinder on ceefax. Anyone watch the old ITV late night stuff? Paint it black, and the cop show set in Las Vegas?

EDIT: Anyone watch Sledge Hammer?

When you say paint it black are you refering to the fantastic show that was Tour of Duty?

Doh! thats the one :D

going to bed overstimulated wont help and what you eat/drink before bed can affect this. i find it hard to get to sleep even if i have a diet coke before bed :S

as for waking up during the night, i don't experience this (other than my son having a strop due to losing his dummy - a gift and a curse those things! the dummies, not my son! he's a gift for sure :) )

maybe its time for a new mattress and some afternoon delight? i sleep like a baby after some of that.....:p although that's hit and miss to get that at best :p

how many of you that wake up during the night have done/ still do shift work???

Ive been waking up at 3.30am regularly for a few weeks now... starting to get a little annoying

I usually seem to manage to finally drift off 15 minutes before my bloody alarm goes off at 6!!!!

G

maybe set your alarm for 3:00am than wait until 3:30am to see if anything happens that may be waking you up without you realising it.....

I work shifts usually 2 lates 3-10 then a double on friday 3pm - 8am then a night 10 -8am. Ive always been able to cope with little sleep. Saying that i could sleep on a washing line in the middle of a war zone. Sometimes being deaf in one ear is a blessing  ehhh whats that you say?

that would go down like a shit filled lead balloon... I can see her face now

ok, set your clock half an hour fast, you should then wake up at 3am (real time) and be able to wait up till 3:30 (4am fake time) to see if anything happens.....:p
if you read this post 2 - 3 times over, you should have no problems falling back asleep :)

Weirdly due to having ME I find insomnia is almost my default setting and thus it does not bother me too much. I am always tired and unable to sleep properly, it'll be an early grave for me let alone an early night

Ditto - Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & Fibromyalgia here.

Do you find the quality of sleep makes a huge difference. I rarely get a proper deep sleep and when I do I can tell because I will have a dream. Non-refreshing sleep is a living nightmare, yes I can sleep because I am tired but rarely do I wake up feeling less tired. I find quietly reading for an hour before going to bed helps me get at least 4 hours solid sleep.
