Thats it, I'm done.

Stuff is either too expensive or too scarce to gain any enjoyment from a build. Plus having built around 30 bikes in the Retrobike years, I've chased and built just about everything I've wanted to own (and some that I didnt!)

I have a tasty collection of bikes to play with so its not all bad.

Am planning to ride more instead so expect a few sales but nothing silly!

.

Correct me if i'm wrong (never been known but i suppose it could happen) but haven't you rolled this one out before :D :D

Well, don't know about that but since working at 'that' bike shop last year, it still makes me angry. Everytime I pick up a tool and start work, I'm sprited straight back to that awful workshop. Even after 5 months it still burns! Add to that the fact that resources have all but dried up makes it no fun anymore. Sure, the odd bit turns up but to what end? I'd rather concentrate on riding more. Something I've neglected over the last few years. I't doesn't mean that I'm flouncing off either! And, if anything exciting does turn up, it will be posted here as always.

As long as your near that council tip of gold you will never retire

I do get where you are coming from though. I worked at a motorcycle shop before, my dream job having travelled most of europe on the bike and during my time there I absolutely thought I was in heaven.

Till it came time to go and realising that the owner, well one of them was such a backstabbing souless git that I had to leave for my own sanity. It did for some time kill the passion I had since 17 around motorbikes and true at this momment in time I do not even have a motorbike and have not for some time.

I do see also what you mean about build instead of ride. I would imagine it is far to easy for some judging by the forums to spend thousands and thousands on buying, building bikes and having a collection of 5 or ten bikes but then when you add the hours spent vs riding hours something is out of balance.

Your passion and level may have changed slightly legrandefromage but I suspect when that something special comes along the old twinkle in the eye will appear again
