Update: After completing the 2011 TdF i went on to tackle the 2014 Vuelta a Espana. Having suffered a bit healthwise leading to lower monthly mileage for several months in 2014 and 2015 it took quite a while but i completed the Vuelta in Sept 2016. Here's the monthly ride tracking:

So.. With two grand tours under the belt the next challenge is obvious.. Do the 2017 Giro d'Italia which would mean completing all three grand tours on retro MTBs
I started the Giro last month and my body is feeling strong again, and broken wrist from May is on the mend, so should be finished faster than the Vuelta.
Stage 2 already..
