Update: After completing the 2011 TdF i went on to tackle the 2014 Vuelta a Espana. Having suffered a bit healthwise leading to lower monthly mileage for several months in 2014 and 2015 it took quite a while but i completed the Vuelta in Sept 2016. Here's the monthly ride tracking:

Done on a mix of 96 LavaDome, 95 Cinder Cone and 99 Hei Hei.

So.. With two grand tours under the belt the next challenge is obvious.. Do the 2017 Giro d'Italia which would mean completing all three grand tours on retro MTBs :)
I started the Giro last month and my body is feeling strong again, and broken wrist from May is on the mend, so should be finished faster than the Vuelta.
Stage 2 already..
