I get a bit fed up when people join to sell something

I feel the same - it seems most here (that post anyways) are sentimental about their old bikes, and loadsa newbies join just to find the going rate and sell it.marin man":27ydb6gf said:How about you :?:
They sign up and show some mediocre piece of tripe,we are all kind to them..........and then two days later they try to sell it on here....gets my goat :x I wonder what percentage of members ie;the 11,000,are actually active and did not join up just for the above purpose

I read the title and first post and thought marin man has hit the nail on the head here because this annoys me too. I found that when I first joined and asked questions about one of my bikes people might have been suspicious that I was one of those type of newbies.
However three pages on I've come round a bit and agree with some of the others. Let them come on here and give us lot first refusal on their stuff, after all there's no obligation to buy it.

trust plays apart also, they have potentially no feedback
some good deals are done this way though, they get modern bits (with the cash or trading) we keep the retro bits in the community.

Don't mind people coming here just to sell (bargains to be had ) but I don't like it when they pretend to be in to the scene just to get their bike viewed before trying to sell it.
